Waypost Life: First Sixty Days

“The ideal job post-college.” That’s the shortened description of my first sixty days as Marketing Coordinator at Waypost Marketing.

Coming fresh out of college and finding a job was an accomplishment I was happy to meet. Yet, realizing that I would land a job in a field that is rapidly growing was a perk I wasn’t expecting. The first sixty days into my job at Waypost have been a full learning experience. Walking into my first “big girl” job after college felt surreal. Not only was I finally embarking on my career, but I was also entering a competitive industry that is changing the way every business engages with its customers. Throughout college, I worked very hard to ensure that I had a resume that would stand out to employers. In addition to media and social media-focused college courses, the various internships I took were a great way to prepare for a career in marketing.

A common motto of mine is, “things happen for a reason,” so yes, I firmly believe that I was meant to join this amazing team of marketers “for a reason”. Throughout my first week at Waypost, I dove straight into work. While I was still learning the environment, clients, and daily tasks, the work never felt like work. You know that saying, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I felt like I did just that.

From the very beginning, I knew I had joined the perfect team. At Waypost, everyone is willing to help, and they make sure you know it. The transparency of Waypost is one that cannot easily be imitated by other companies. Many other companies boast themselves in their numbers, but Waypost takes pride in the RELATIONSHIPS with clients. Like Waypost, every client has a unique company culture that happens to fit right along with our own company culture. Working with various clients has been a smoother learning experience than I expected because working for them is like doing work for our own agency. We treat every client with the same attention, and we get to learn more than just the names of “who we should email for questions”.

Our clients are top priority at Waypost. Everyone works very hard and does a great job at what they do. Everyone at Waypost has their strengths and watching everyone come together as a team gives me a sense of peace. The workdays at Waypost are not only strictly work; they’re also filled with laughter, creative ideas, meetings, food, and spontaneous activities. The friendly environment throughout the company sets the tone for a trustworthy atmosphere. No day is ever the same at Waypost, but that’s what makes work interesting. I look forward to all the learning and growth that’s to come with this amazing team! There is no doubt in my mind that the experience gained at Waypost will take me to the next level.
